Extreme wildland fire events in the world require cooperation among countries and the international community to cope with situations that exceed the management capabilities of the nation affected. Many international projects have been carried out with the UN ECE/FAO/ILO Team of Specialists and other United Union international and regional organizations, participation. These programs include Smoke and Haze Management in Southeast Asia, Forest fire project in Mediterranean region, forest fire cooperation programs in Baltic region and the cooperation among America, Canada and Russia. Fire management level of the countries and regions has improved through international cooperation. The paper introduces the present status of the international cooperation on forest fire, and indicates the trend of the cooperation in the future.
