PROGRESS IN PETROLEUM EXPLORATION AND DEVELOPMENT IN THE BOHAI SEA

建国以来,渤海油气勘探与开发取得了可喜的进展.基本查明了海区的地层层序、构造轮廓及石油地质条件.1965—1979年,为油气勘探、开发的初创时期,以区域地质调查、重点钻探和试验性的开发为主,为后十年的发展作了必要的准备.1980—1989年,是改革的十年,是对外合作的十年,是蓬勃发展的十年,是取得成效最大的十年.

Since the foundation of P.R.China (1949), enjoyable results have been ach-ieved in petroleum exploration and development in the Bohai Sea. The basin extent has been delimited, structure divisions been done, and 345 structures been found, over 70 of which are selected to drill. Oil horizons have been found in 10 members of Cambrian, Ordovicion, Me-sozoic and Tertiary strata. There are for types of reservoir rocks, i.e, Tertiary sandstones and terrestial clastic dolomites, Mesozoic volcanics and Lower Pala-eozoic carbonatites. Shahejie Formation and Ddngying Formation of Eogene are the two major source-rock sets, with a total oil generation of about 80 billion tons and oil resources of about 7-8 billion. 8 oil and gas fields and 22 oil-bearing structures have been found in exploration. During the exploration, aeromagnetic survey was made in the whole area and more careful survey was conducted' in some important parts. And also 30,000 km of marine magnetic survey, 40,000 km of gravity survey and 230,000 km of seismic profiles (incl-uding 3-D seismic) were finished. 170 exploration wells were drilled. The exploration and development in the Bohai Sea can be divided into two periods with 1980 as the boundary between. Until 1980 lasted the initiative period of offtshore petroleum exploration, during which 3 oil fields and some oil-bearing structures were found through peripheral geological investigations, geophysical prospecting, drilling and development tests. Although proved oil reserves in this period were relatively small, only 1/10 of the total proved reserves, it laid necessary foundation for exploration and development in the later period. From 1980 till now is the period of offtshore hydrocarbon exploration and development in progress. During this time, 6 contracts of cooperation with for-eign oil companies were signed. 2 oil fields and a group of oil-bearing structures were found in the contract areas. In 1984, at the time of cooperations with foreigners, self-managing area of the Liaodong Bay was initiated. 3 oil and gas fields and a group of oil-bearing structures have been found in the Liaodong Bay for 6 years. Among them SZ 36-1 is a large oil field of more than 200 million tons of oil reserves. It is a buried-hill draping structure with Upper Oligocene sandstone as the source rocks. Proved reserves found in this period are 9/10 of the total. Thus, it is said that the last decade is a decade of coo-perating with foreigners, a decade of developing and a decade of gaining great achievements.
