太湖的演变史

THE HISTORICAL CHANGES OF TAIHU LAKE

关于太湖的成因,地理界基本上存在着两种不同的观点:一种传统观点,认为它是潟湖,即“潟湖说”;另一种新观点,认为它不是潟湖,而是构造湖,即“非潟湖说”。这两种说法,面对一些事实,各有解释不通的地方。如果今天的太湖是潟湖遗迹,那末,对于太湖湖底及其周围发现大批新石器时代晚期和历史时期的遗址、出土文物。

This article expounds the historical changes in the three periods of Taihu Lake (i.e. the changes from sea to land and to Taihu) since the middle Holocene according to the materials of the changes of climate, geology and stratum, the fossils of ancient creatures, the remains of an ancient culture and historical documents etc. The viewpoint about the cause of Taihu's formation differs from neither the Lagoon theory nor the non-lagoon theory, and clarifies the whole processes of its changes since 6000—7000 years and the different form of the earth's surface and the different cause of its formation in different periods.
