Loops are the basic elements for feature recognition. These normal loops would provide useful intermediate description for the further interpretation of drawing, e.g. 2D/3D feature extraction and process planning. For every node shared by more than 2 edges, construct an edge list in the order of increasing inclination angle with respect to x \|axis. This pretreatment accelerates the detection of all existing loops in the drawing.
