徐世溥的游记所写的大都是他的家乡──江西新建境内西山一带的美丽的自然风光、动人的远古传说、灵迹佳境。当他的审美目光越出西山之外的社会，面对盛衰无常、变动不居的现实，也不禁有沧海桑田之感。徐世溥游记行文缜密，描写细腻，用词造句清新雅洁，形成了他的独特文风，具有较高的审美价值，受到了古人如王士 、今人如谢国桢等名家的称赞。

The travels of XU Shi pu are mostly about the beautiful sight,moving legends and wonderful scenery of Xishan Mountains in Xinjian Jiangxi.When his aesthetic sight turns beyond his hometown to the rising and declining reality,he cannot help but feel the whirling of the time.His deliberate,minute， fresh and refined writings form his special style which has higher aesthetic value and he is praised by famous writers such as WANG Shi zhen of Qing dynasty and XIE Guo zhen of the present time.
