信息管理是基于信息的管理 (info management) ,它既不是简单的信息资源管理 ,也不是普通的管理信息系统。信息科学的多样性、集成化发展和管理科学的知识管理构想均表明 ,信息管理是学科融合及社会经济发展的必然产物。CALS的成功 ,从实践意义上证明这种新型管理观念的可行性。为了全面实现信息管理 ,除了更新管理观念 ,还应以集成信息环境为目标 ,从政策法规保障体系建设入手 ,形成信息生产和流通的良性机制 ,促进学科的发展进步。

Driven by information technology, a new hybrid subject—info management, i.e. management based on information, is born by information science and management science. The wide application of CALS globally in both military and civilian fields has proven the feasibility of the concept of info management. In order to develop China's info management cause, senses must be updated, the construction of IDE (Integrated Data Environment) should be set up as an objective, and a relevant system of policies and regulations is to be established.
