USURIOUS CAPITAL IN MODERN CHINAS TEA INDUSTRY

近代中国茶业高利贷金融资本甚为活跃，这种旧式资本成为茶业资本的主要来源，茶农、茶 商均赖其生存。由于茶业高利贷利润丰厚，外国银行、洋行、茶栈、钱庄，甚至地主、官僚、茶 商、茶贩均以不同的途径和方式插手贷放。高利贷资本的兴盛，强化了洋行对茶叶外销的控制， 摧残了近代中国茶业，加速了茶业的衰败，茶商、茶农深受其害，而最终负担又转嫁到了茶农身 上。

Usurious capital in modem China's tea industry was very active.This old-fashioned capital upon which tea farmers and tea merchants depended became the main source of capital in tea industry.Because of the rich profit of the usurious capital in this line ,foreign banks,foreign-funded enterprises, tea warehouse,money changers,even landlords,bureaucrats,tea merchants and peddleries joined in this business.The rise of this usurious capital strenthened foreign-funded companies'control of Chinese tea's foreign trade and suffocated the tea industry.It also did great harm to tea merchants and especially to tea farmers,to whom the burden eventually transferred.
