A Review of the General Plans of Administering Xinjiang by Zhang Zhi-zhong

张治中是国民党著名的爱国民主将领 ,从伊宁事件到新疆和平解放 ,张治中为改善新疆民族关系 ,加强民族团结 ,维护祖国统一 ,增进中苏友好合作 ,促进新疆经济、文化发展 ,作出了突出的贡献。本文拟围绕民族问题。

General Zhang Zhi_zhong was famous for his being patriotic and democratic in the KMT. From the Yining incident to Xinjiang Peaceful Liberation, General Zhang had made some outstanding contributions to improving national relations, strengthening national unity, upholding the unification of our homeland, promoting good friendship and cooperation between China and the Soviet Union, as well as bringing about some advance in economic and cultural construction in Xinjiang. This thesis wants to discuss Zhang′s general plans from the national problems, the diplomatic problems and the developing problems.
