就其总体和基本趋势而言，法治是古代希腊城邦时期的一种社会状态。它不只是一种制度化模式或社会组织模式，也是一种理性精神和文化意识。古希腊哲人们持恒的理论研究和著述，创造了古代法治的思想。法治作为外化于古希腊社会的客观形式──一种制度实体，其建构模式又为法治思想做了系统、详实的说明。

In terms of its entirety and basic tendency nomocracy is a special social form in the city-state era of Ancient Greece. It is a model of certain system or social organization, but also a sensible spirit and cultural consciousness. Due to philosophers' continual study and the influences of their works ancient legal ideology was hereby created. Rul- ing by law, as an exterior objective form of ancient Greek society, is a body of systems. Its legal model also provides a systematic and detailed description for Ancient Creek lgeal ideology.
