Fast Object Tracking Algorithm Based on MPEG-2 Video Sequence

提出了一种新的目标跟踪算法 .对于输入的一组由静止摄像机捕获的 MPEG- 2视频流 ,该算法不需对其进行解码即可对场景中的运动物体直接进行目标跟踪 .MPEG- 2码流中的直流 ( DC)系数和运动矢量在目标跟踪算法中作为运动物体的特征被直接使用 .实验表明 ,该算法针对MPEG- 2视频流进行的目标跟踪具有实时性 ,也排除了复杂背景中的局部变化对跟踪结果产生的影响 .

A novel algorithm for object tracking was proposed. Input of the algorithm is MPEG-2 video stream captured by a stationary camera. Then the algorithm tracks moving objects in the stream without decoding it. The DC coefficients and motion vectors in MPEG-2 video stream are directly used as the features of moving objects in the object tracking algorithm. Experiment shows that this algorithm is of real-time tracking for moving objects in MPEG-2 video stream and can exclude the influence of local changes from complex background.
