The Young's modulus and Poission's ratio in uniaxial tension could be different from those in uniaxial compression for rocks and rock like materials. In this paper, the solution of pure bending of rectanglar beam with different elastic properties in tension and compression is deduced. It is shown that the analysis of rock like materials by the conventional isotropic elastic theory could lead to erroneous results. In the meanwhile, the solution in this paper could be the theory basis of measurements of some material parameters.
