综述了1999～2000年间国内外磁记录材料及应用的若干重要进展，包括高速度纵向磁记录介质，垂直磁记录介质，金属磁记录头材料，自旋阀磁记录读出磁头，磁光效应与磁记录。

Progress of magnetic recording materials and applications in China and abroad in 1999～ 2000 years is described.It consists of high speed longitudal magnetic recording medium,perpendicular magnetic recording medium,metallic magnetic recording head,spin valve magnetic recording read－head,magneto－optical effect and magnetic recording.
