摘要 Mr. Wu Zijun —an Expertin Engineering BlastingMr. Wu Zijun was born in Anhui, China in Oct.1939 ,and graduated from the MiningDepartment of Hefei University of Technology.Now ,heisaseniorengineerand asupervisorthefirstclassin Shenzhen Public Security Bureau and holdsfollowing posts concurrently:a memberofthe standing council of China Society of Engineering Blasting and the Engineering BlastingSpecialized Com mittee of the Chinese Mechanics Institute, a speciallyinvited member of theChinese Mechanics Institute, a member of the standing council of Guangdong MechanicsInstitute, head of the Engineering Blasting Specialized Com mittee of Guangdong MechanicsInstitute,a member of engineering blasting expert group of the Public Security Department ofGuangdong Province,a member of the director board of Engineering Blasting Journal,and aspeciallyinvited member of Editorial Com mittee of Blasting Journal.Mr. Wu Zijun has been engaged in engineering blasting for his whole life and achievedremarkable success in research of blasting theory and technology , blasting design andconstruction ,examination of blasting scheme,removal of explosive devices and management ofcivil explosive materials. He has given a great contribution to the development of blastingtechnologyin China,specially in Guangdong Province.In the field of engineering blasting,heenjoys high prestige and is one ofthe famous expertsfor his high theoreticallevel,consum mateskilland rich practicalexperiences.Mr. Wu Zijun workedin Changsha Mining Research Institutefrom 1963to1985 ,asheadofthe Departmentof Blasting Research ,ever participated in and directed six research projectssuchas “Theory and Study on Blasting Vibration Effect”,“Shortdelay Tight Blasting with MultipleRow Holes”, “77 Engineering Design”, “Mining Method with Largediameter Deepholes inFankou Mine”,“Study on Largescale Shortdelay Blasting Techniquein Dexing Opencast CopperMine”and “Study on Deephole Blasting Technique in Dexing Opencast Copper Mine”. Theseresearch projects won the State Science Meeting Prize,the second andthird class State ScientificProgress Prize and thethird class Scientific Achievement Prize oftheformer CNNC.In thefieldofengineering blasting of China, Mr. Wu isthefirst to complete the research work of opencastlonghole blasting from laboratoryscale, pilotscale to fullscale tests, to explore the relationamong threeteststagesand theirsimilar models,and systematically to studytheeffectofblastingparameters on rock fragementation .He putforward a new view on evaluating the blasting qualityof opencast mines by use of acoustic emission technique for determination of blastingfracturedzone.Aftertransferred to Shenzhen Public Security Bureau in 1985 , Mr. Wu Zijun did a lot ofcreative work for publicsecurity organsto manage safely the com mercialexplosive materials. Heexamined about2000 blasting designs,directed and designed about100 blasting projectsinclusiveof chamber blastingin complicated surroundings,deephole blasting and demolition blasting .Asmemberof blasting expert group,he took part in the examinations of chamber blasting designwith 10000t explosive in Zhuhai,of directional throw blasting design with 3200t explosive inHuizhou Port and of demolition blasting design of a 120m high chimney in MaomingPetrochemistry Company.In 1993 ,together with Mr. Zhu Deda,he designed the directionalthrow blasting(with 1200t explosive) “to move a hillfor filling ofsea”in the West District ofZhuhai.Allof above projects had been done successfully .Mr. Wu Zijun is good at thinking deeply and brave in practice. He has made a greatcontribution to the development ofchamber blasting technology in complicated surroundings andshortdelay detonation technique of divided charging with cartridgesin China.In March 1990,the blasting projectof Yueliangwan Power Plantin Shenzhen,with 300000 m3 ofrock volumetobe blasted,was pressed fortimeandin complicated surroundings,only 100m awayfrom atimbermill.As an expert, Mr. Wureceivedthe urgentassignmentin designingthe blasting project.
