Component technology pushed object oriented technology and distributed calculation efficiently,and then advanced software development.This article begins with the Geographic Information System and component technology,then introduces a GIS ActiveX control MapX and analyses its mechanism.Based on the application GIS of Shanghai Public Security Geographic Information System,the authors outlined a way to develop ComGIS by MapX.
