Back transformation and translation of English nominal structures into Chinese

现代翻译理论与实践受益于现代语言学的兴起和发展。奈达将乔姆斯基的句子生成理论应用于翻译 ,并以四类语义范畴和核句为基础 ,提出了逆转换译法。笔者试用逆转换译法对英语名词化结构的汉译进行了探索。实践证明 。

Modern translation theory and practice owe a great deal to the rise and deve lopment of modern linguistics. Eugene A. Nida introduced Chomsky's sentence generating theory into translation, and on the basis of the four semantic categories and kernels, put forward a new translating method, which is called back transformation. It is believed that back transformation is both efficient and operational when used in English translation, esp. in the translation of English nominal structures into Chinese. It is also believed that it brings us a new idea of the traditional splitting skill.
