A Probe into the Ethnic Han Surnames of the Ethnic Wa People in Mt.Awa

佤族主要分布在滇西南山地 ,但与汉族的沟通早已有之 ,这在姓氏上亦可见一斑。这与元代以来汉族人口不断地迁徙到滇西南 ,和同样是迁徙至此的佤族发生密切交流有很大关系 ,这种交流在明清时期进一步加强。今天阿佤山的佤族青年姓名实行汉佤两制 。

Ethnic Wa people live on the mountains of Southwest ern Yunnan.They have had contacts with ethnic Han for a long time.This can be se en from their surnames.Since the Yuan Dynasty the ethnic Han people have continu ously moved to Southwestern Yunnan and had contacts with the Wa people.The commu nications between them were enhanced in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.As a result, the younger people of the Wa in Mt.Awa have both the Wa and Han surnames.
