结合苏南运河无锡段实施航道标准化美化（ＨＢＭ）工程的实践，阐明应遵循的基本要求和过程，并对实施ＨＢＭ工程的做法及其社会意义作了简介。

In combination with practice of HBM project (channel standardization andbeautification) implemented at Wuxi section of Sunan Canal, the paper expounds the basicrequirement and process, and introduces briefly the measures of implementing HBM projectand its social significance.
