The paper, with an eye on the special aspects of controlling circulating fluidized bed boilers, primarily presents an introduction to the control problems connected with ash removal, ash cooling and starting systems. The conceptions, of the Harbine Boiler Works Co. Ltd., in elaborating the control philosophy and ways of realization are also presented to serve as a reference for relevant trade colleagues.
