在整个工业革命的文献中 ,生活标准 (standard-of-living)的讨论是一个既激烈又很难具说服力的讨论。而这一讨论中的最主要的也是最重关键的问题是关于工人阶级生活水平的问题。对此 ,西方学者有“事实讨论”、“反事实讨论”和“超反事实问题”的探讨。本文拟就西方学者关于这一问题的讨论作一评价。

It's one of the most lively and drastic yet most inconclusive debates in the Industrial Revolution literature. The core of the debates focuses on the standard-of-living of workers. Therefore, western scholars have their researches by the 'factual debate', 'counterfactual debate', and 'the hypercounterfactual question'. Author tends to have some comments on those debates.
