Some thoughts on modern painting

绘画作品是抒发画家情感的载体，运用正确的创作方法，才能充分表达画家的思想。新的绘画形式的产生是对旧的绘画形式的继承与发展。技术是表达思想的手段，但技术永远代替不了艺术。绘画的创作到作品的产生直至作品的接受，是绘画作品独特的存在方式。作品能否被大多数人接受是作品成败的关键。

Paintings are a carrier, through which the painters express their feelings. That's why appropriate approaches are crucial to a painter who wants to present his thoughts in his paintings. New approaches derive their inspirations from the old mode of approaches. Techniques work only a tool for expression, but will not replace art. From their creation to acceptan ce by the viewers, works of painting have their own unique existence. Therefore the acceptance of a work by the viewers is a key criterion to see if it is successful.
