《高级英语》第二册第九课课文《走出奥米勒斯城的人》是一篇具有象征意义的寓言故事，奥米勒斯城并非作者心中的理想城市，作者使用寓言这一体裁，借奥米勒斯城讽刺和批判怀念并赞成奴隶制与殖民统治的人。
This article discusses the symbolic meaning of the text The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas in Advanced English (Revised Edition), Book 2. The writer thinks that Omelas is not at all an ideal city of happiness envisaged by the author. On the contrary, the author means to criticize those who advocate slavery and colonialism in a sarcastic way by writing in the style of allegory.
