In the article an analysis is made of metanarrat ives in Pynchons Vineland .Despite the fact that Pynchon has,in his Vinel and ，questioned and deconstructed four kinds of metanarratives of the genesis myth,history,love,and death, he has landed himself in other two metanarratives of television and Reaganomics, respectively.Thus it indicates that there is no escape from metanarratives which he believes in. ［
