美国环境社会心理学传统的研究课题包括对拥挤和噪音、环境风险、建筑心理学及环境评估的研究。新的研究取向则是研究由于人的行为而造成的环境问题 ,以及如何形成人们的环境保护行为。为着社会可持续发展的需要 。

The new development of the research on traditional and new subjects in environmental social psychology in U.S.A in the last 20 years has been introduced in this article. The traditional subjects in this field are about crowding and noise, environmental risks, architectural psychology, and environmental assessment. The new approach is to research on the environmental problems made by human behavior, and how to form human behavior of environmental protection. The author points out that Chinese applied social psychologists need to pay more attention to environmental psychology.
