裴炎是武则天独掌朝政后杀掉的第一位宰相 ,其被杀的原因来自他对唐王室的忠心。武则天杀裴炎构成了滥杀行为 。
Pei Yan, the first prime minister killed by Empress Wu Ze tian under her autocratic rule, was executed simply for his loyalty to the Tang Dynasty. The execution of Pei Yan showed Wu Ze tian′s indiscriminate killing and marked the beginning of her slaughter policy.
