全球化浪潮对民主进程产生了巨大影响。全球化没有改变资本主义民主与社会主义民主的本质区别 ,政治民主化不等同于资本主义民主全球化。全球化促进民主的发展 ,不同模式的民主在相互竞争和借鉴中共存。在全球化趋势下 ,发达资本主义国家推行西方民主的手段出现了新特点。只有建立国际政治经济新秩序 ,才能实现国际关系的民主化。

The trend of globalization has had great influence on the democratic progress.In the course of globalization, there are still some essential differences between the capitalist democracy and the socialist democracy, and the political democratization is not the capitalist democratic globalization. Globalization has promoted the development of democracy and all types of democracies have been developing by interactions, competition and mutual references. Under this trend of globalization,there have been emerged some news characteristics of the means by which the developed capitalists promote and spread western democracy.with the foundation of the new international political and economical order, the international relations will achieve the democratization.
