Utilization and Evaluation of Native Germplasm of Bermudagrass in Sichuan

四川盆地属中亚热带湿润气候 ,本地野生狗牙根用于建植草坪已有较长历史 ,引入品种种间杂交狗牙根近年来也被广泛应用于各类草坪。野生狗牙根种质材料表现出形态性状的多样性和巨大变异。有必要继续收集和评价我国狗牙根野生资源 ,借鉴国外育种方法 ,培育出草坪型、牧草型和牧草兼水土保持型。

The climatic type of Sichuan basin is humid mid subtropic. The utilization of bermudagrass for turf has had a long history. In recent years introduced hybrid bermudagrass cv. Tifway and Tifgreen have been applied to different types of turf. The morphological traits of the native accessions are diverse and contains huge variations. The authors suggest that collection and evaluation of China native bermudagrass germplasm should continue and use the accessions to develop cultivars for turf, for forage and for forage and erosion protection by using foreign breeding procedures for reference.
