On Reasons for the Shifts Between North and South as the Centre of Chinese Literature

中国文学中心的南北移位，是由政治、经济、文化、军事、地理等多种因素共同作用引起的。在中国文学史上，文学中心与经济中心始终保持一致，与政治中心有合有分，与文化中心有同一性。文学中心的移位也要受战争的直接影响，而特定的地理环境又为文学中心移位提供了必不可少的前提条件。

It is the combination of politics, economics, culture, military affairs and geograph- ical conditions that caused the shifts of the centers of Chinese literature. The centre of litera- ture always kept consistent with the centre of economics and it has the identity with the cen- tre of culture. As for the centre of politics, the condition is not the same. The war influ- enced directly to the shift, and the definite geographical conditions provided essential prereq- uisite for the shift.
