摘要惠特曼在《我自己的歌》一诗的开头写道 :“我赞美我自己 ,歌唱我自己 , 我承担的你也将承担 , 因为属于我的每一个原子也同样属于你。”尽管这个“我”总是以叙事者的身份在诗中占据主导地位 ,但是这个“你”却始终伴随着“我” ,歌唱着《我自己的歌》。在惠特曼之前 ,从未有哪个美国诗人像他这样如此重视过自己的读者。文章从诗人戏剧性地表现“我”与“你”的关系中 ,探讨这首诗中抒情性与史诗性兼容并蓄的创作特点。 Whitman's Song of Myself begins with “I celebrate myself,and sing myself/And what I assume you shall assume,/For every atom belonging to me as good belongs to you.”This “you” remains in the poem to and through the end,though the “I” is always in the foreground.Not many poets before Whitman have made so much of the reader as he did.This paper aims at depicting Whitman's dramatic presentation of the “I” and “you” in this poem,so as to see Whitman's incorporation of lyricism into his epic poem of Song of Myself.This perhaps justifies the way that many modern American long poems can be called lyric epics.
