摘要
与普遍认为的五四新文学执着于艺术美的追求相反,在其主流的文学观念建构中恰恰缺少的是“美”。存在的困境决定困境的存在。在势必面对的“新”“旧”对立中,所要抛弃的不可能仅仅是或“载道”或“游戏”的内容,而必须连带以几近纯熟的“美”的形式;在向未来的“为人生”抑或是“为艺术”的论争中,同样潜隐着“载道”与“游戏”的阴影。基于这些多少有点人为的二难对立中的思考本应导向或对“美”的恐惧,或对“美”的偏执,从而为所谓的艺术之“美”留一点空间,但“科学”的理想与沉重的时代都没有备下真正的艺术殿堂。“美”在激烈的论争和偏至的主张中被有意无意地忽视了。
Contrary to the universal belief that the new May 4th literary kept striving perseveringly for beauty of art,it is my opinion that what was missing in constructing the mainstream literay concept at the time was precisely'the beautiful' Existent predicament determined the existence of predicament.In the opposition between the 'new'and the 'old'that was to be confronted with,what was to be abandoned could not possibly be only such as the content of 'recording doctrines', or that of 'going in for recreations and games', but had to drag in the form of 'beauty' which had dveloped almost to perfection;in the debate about 'for life?' or 'for art?' in the future was it tinged with the shadows of 'recording doctrines' and 'going in for recreations and games'. Reflections derived from these more or less man-made dilemmas of Oopposition, should have been oriented to being fearful of 'the beautiful' or to being stubbonly biased to 'the beautiful', so as to leave a bit of space for the so-called 'beauty' of art, but neither the 'scientific'ideal nor the age with heavy responisibilities had got a palace of art ready. Amidst the heated controversies and extremely biased advocations had 'the beautiful' been overlooked wittingly or unwittingly.
