The Hidden Peril of Dramatic Reduction of Arable Land and Removal Suggestions

实施西部大开发战略是我党第三代领导集体面向新世纪做出的重要战略决策 ,然而 ,启动西部大开发工程对原本就不乐观的西部耕地形势必将带来冲击。本文在占有大量数据资料的基础上 ,分析了大开发可能带来的西部耕地锐减形势 。

Western Development is the significant strategic decision made by the Party's Third Generation Leading Group in the new century. Yet, the initiation of Western Development Projects will surely influence the arable lands in the western areas where the arable land situation is already not optimistic. Based on large quantity of data, this paper makes an analysis of reduction of arable lands that may happen during the development, and proposes some suggestions of removing hidden perils caused by the sharp reduction of arable lands.
