The stress field is quantitatively calculated by optical plasticity for upsetting cylinder( H/D =2)between ordinary flat platens. The results are coherent with the results of quantitative physical simulation,numerical value simulation and the tension stress theory of a rigid-plastic mechanical model. The feasibility has been proved that optical plasticity could be used in quantitative simulation stress field on heating forging pieces center. Laying a foundation,complex three-dimensional problem may be solved.
