Two Systems, Two Undertanding——Differences in the Understandings of Practice in "Practical Materialism

“实践唯物主义”同“辩证唯物主义和历史唯物主义”作为两种不同的哲学体系 ,对实践有不同的理解。在辩证唯物主义和历史唯物主义理论体系中 ,实践是个辅助性概念 ,它被理解为单纯的物质活动、改造世界的手段和纯粹理性的对象 ;在实践唯物主义理论体系中 ,实践是奠基性概念 ,它被规定为物质和精神的统一、目的和手段的统一、理性和非理性的统一。要建立真正的、名副其实的实践唯物主义哲学 ,就必须重新理解实践。

Practical materialism' and 'dialectical and historical materialism' are two different philosoplical systems, and therefore hold different understandings of practice. In the system of dialectical and historical materialism, pratice is adjunctive concept, understood as a mere physical activity, a means of transforming the world, and an object of pure reason. In the theoretical system of practical materialism, practice is a pioneering coucept, stipulated as the unity between matter and mind, between means and end, and between rationality and irrationality. To establish a real authentic philosophy of practical waterialism, we must understand practice again.
