中国古代小说中劝诫型人物形象的出现，大体始于宋话本。这人类物形象基本可分为迷途知返等类型；而通俗性、功利性，写实性等则是其主要特点。劝诫型人物形象在社会教化中起过一定的积极作用，但对其负面影响也应进行剖析。

The figures that play the role of exhorting others to do good in Chinese classical novels appeared in the scripts .They can be rewarded by their different deeds, good or evil, and the retruning of the prodigal sons and so on . This kind of novels is characterized by the discription and realism. To some extent, these figures have played some active roles in the process of educating people. However we should also analyse their side effects.
