摘要
沈荩案发生将近100年了，但有关史实扑朔迷离，至今尚未完全弄清楚。本文对有关史实加以考证，认为沈荩不可能向八国联军告发清廷大员，他在北京的活动也并非是"散布革命种子"，"着手中央革命之预备"，他被清廷逮捕并杖毙，不是因为他披露了《中俄密约》，而是因为他曾参与自立军起事。据此，作者就如何看待当年革命党人为了宣传"排满"所写下的"史实"谈了自己的看法。
It is almost 100 years since the Case of Shen Jin，the historical facts about which remain complicated and confusing. After a textual r esearch into the case, it is pointed out that it is impossible that Shen Jin rep orted the officials of Manchu Dynasty to the Eight-Power Allied Force, that his activities in Beijing aimed at 'spreading the revolutionary seeds', and 'prep aring for revolution'. The reason why he was arrested and killed by Manchu Dyna sty is not that he threw daylight on ' Secret Agreement between China and Russi a', but that he was involved in the independent armed force.
