Performance requirements are some investment measures used by the host country to introduce and manage foreign investment. But there are some changes in the recent development of bilateral and multilateral investment legislations: some bilateral and multilateral investment treaties began to challenge this power of host country, some treaties even totally prohibited performance requirements. The reduce or abolish of performance requirements shall follow the principle of 'respect the reality and advance step by step', any extremist international rules to reduce or abolish performance requirements will be refused by most countries, because these rules impair the interest of those less\|developed countries.
