Most of the roofs in Datong mining area are made of medium sandstone, grit sandstone, fine sandstone and silt sandstone. Their compressive strength exceeds 100~160MPa. Being the integral structure, it has high slice in roof rock strata and undeveloped fracture. In the period of mining, the roofs are difficult to cave, the caving rock lumps are very heavy, the roofs move in high horizon. As rock pressure is very strong,it is easy to exert greater load to supports. Under such mining conditions, the best choice for upper mechanized slicing is to dress floor mesh before support. Hence, create favourable conditions for the lower sub-slicing. This paper mainly introduces hydraulic support parameters of automatic meshdressing before supports in thick seam slicing and the process of mining mesh dressing.
