摘要
当今英语新词汇层出不穷，其增长速度快于以往任何一个时期。每天都有新的词汇产生或引入以表达社会的新事物和新变化。现代英语主要通过发展词义、创造新词，运用各种构词手法和吸收外来词汇等渠道扩大其词汇量，以满足信息社会的需要。
Today,English new words sweep in at a rate much faster than at any other historical period of time.New words are being invented or introduced every day to express new things and new changes in society. The expansion of cabulary in modern English depends chiefly on the channels of semantic change,creation, word-formation and borrowing.
