The synthesis method of phentolamine mesilate was improved, which could improve the qualitv and yield of the product. Chloroacelonitrile was used as starting material by steps of addition, cyclization, condensation, neutralization, salifying to synthesis phentolamine mesilate. The overall yield amounted to 20 % and the quality was up to the standard of Chinese Pharmacopeia 2000; The method could improve the quality and yield of the product.
