The characteristics of breaker and a half scheme in 500kV Houcun substation and the effect in 500kV power grid is introduced.Considering the shortages of the main wire in the first stage,an analysis is made on improvement of the running way when the second transmission line was finished between ShenTou to Houcun ,a prospect of the running situation is made when the transmission line(Houma to Houcun)will be done.
