Based on the authors' practice developing in MIS for a steel rolling factory,this paper discusses several problems about the design and implementation of MIS for steel rolling factory,which contains:the system's aim and the principle of design,system architecture,several methods to improve the performance of client/server system,interface of the system and the weighing system,data characteristic of steel rolling factory,implementation technology,and system function.
