Entire Comprehension of the Social Function of Science and Technology --Reading Notes about Jiang Zemin's On the Science and Technology

通过系统地学习江泽民的《论科学技术》一书发现 ,江泽民充分论述了科学技术的社会功能。根据江泽民的论述 ,应从以下四个方面来全面把握科学技术的社会功能 :生产力功能———是科学技术首要的社会功能 ,是科学技术社会功能的基础部分 ;经济功能和文化功能———是科学技术社会功能的核心部分 ;科学技术的伦理思想———是对科学技术社会功能进行反思的必然产物。这四个方面的内容相互联系、相互渗透、相互作用 。

By textual research of Jiang Zemin's On the Science and Technology, the author thinks that Jiang Zemin has discoursed sufficiently upon the social function of science and technology. According to Jiang Zemin's discourses, we ought to grasp the social functions of science and technology from the following four aspects: (1) the productivity function--this is the chief function of science and technology, and is the basic part of the social function of science and technology; (2) the economy function and (3) the culture function--these are the hardcore parts of the social function of science and technology; and (4) the ethics idea of science and technology--this is the necessary result for people to turn over to think the social function of science and technology. The four aspects are interrelated, interpenetrated, and interact on each other. They establish together Jiang Zemin's dialectical materialist view of the social function of science and technology.
