Since the completion of Time Flows, Wang Anyi has mainly focused her attention upon urban daily life. This is closely associated with her unique conception of history. Facing the numerous complicated urban daily lives, Wang adopts the rational narration pattern. Having accumulated a wealth of related materials, she deduces and extends the plot of her fiction with the aid of logic to attain the goal of avoiding the defect of rambling in the process of narration. All these are closely related to Wang Anyi's attempts to construct the aesthetic judgment form of daily life.
