近代南洋琼侨的社团与生活

The Overseas Hainanese Communities and Their Social Life in Southeast Asia in Modern Times

近代以来 ,东南亚的华人移民数量急速增加 ,其中 ,来自海南者占有相当比重 ,构成了南洋华侨中的五大集团之一。南洋琼侨依据同乡 (地缘关系 )、同族 (血缘关系 )、同行 (业缘关系 )的不同纽带 ,结成了种种社团组织并生活于其间。这些社团组织奉行的是南洋琼侨在故乡时就已接受和熟悉的伦理规范和风俗习惯 ,反映了祖国的历史文化传统对南洋琼侨社会生活方式的深刻影响。在异国他乡的严峻生存环境中 ,这些社团组织成为南洋琼侨交流沟通的桥梁 ,相互扶助的工具 ,规避风险的场所和日常生活的精神与物质寄托。

In modern times, the amount of overseas Chinese increased at a high speed in the area of Southeast Asia. Among them, people who emigrated from Hainan Island formed a large proportion and made up one of the five groups of the overseas Chinese in Southeast Asia. They also grouped a lot of communities by local relationship(fellow villagers), blood relationship(common ancestries) and professional relationship(same trade or business). These communities followed the moral norms and customs with which they grew up in their homeland. It shows that these overseas Hainanese were influenced deeply by the historical cultural tradition and the way of life in their homeland. In the hard situation of life in foreign countries, these communities became bridges for connection, means for support, refuges for relieving of suffering, and sanctums in everyday life for their spiritual and material life.
