文章对国内外关于近代英国和中国新疆关系的研究进行了总结，并对国内各个时期研究及国外研究特点、资料使用情况做了分析，认为系统探讨近代英国和新疆新关系是十分必要和有意义的。

The paper is a summary of the studies of the modern relationship between UK and Xinjiang of China and an analysis of the researches of the issue in different periods by Chinese scholars as well as the literature and studies concerned abroad. The paper suggests that it should be necessary and significant to study the relationship in modern time between UK and Xinjiang of China.
