《西游记》中许多词语的用例可以从释义和书证上弥补《汉语大词典》之不足，可见汉语词汇史的研究不仅要重视文言古籍，也要关注白话作品。
Many words in Xiyouji could be as a supplement to Hanyu Dacidian in explanation and quoted examples. So it can be said that the study of the History of Chinese Lexicon should pay attention to not only Wenyan ancient works, but Baihua works.
