Gaining a footing on the new century poetic world of China, the author reviews the past trend of 'Obscure Poems' and studies the creation of poems by Shu Ting, a Chinese poetess, who has been one of the typical poets of 'Obscure Poems'. This article argues that Shu Ting's poems are the result of the sublimation of distress, or the crystal of tears , that her poems are not only based upon the reality but also transcend the reality , and that her poems construct a world of the true,the good and the beautiful. Moreover, Shu Ting's poems also blend harmoniously the classical beauty with modern beauty, making a great stride on the way to nationalizing modern Chinese poetry. As far as both arts and ideas are concerned, Shu Ting's creation of poems brings a good deal of enlightenment to the contemporary poetic world of China.
