高校扩招是落实科教兴国战略的正确决策 ,而英语教学中的诸多矛盾阻碍了教学目的的实现 .本文针对高校逐年扩招与英语师资匾乏这一突出矛盾 ,对比传统英语教学与多媒体英语教学 ,阐明了多媒体教学的必要性和迫切性 .

Added enrollment to universities is the key to advancing our country by science and education. However,lots of contradictions in English teaching counteract the teaching purpose. This paper aims at the main contradiction between the adding enrollment and the lack of teachers,comparing the traditional English teaching with CALL,analyzing the necessity and impendence of CALL.
