In this paper the medical ( Blackboard-Framework-Based ) Expert System Tool (BFBEST) is presented. Its design methods and techniques, including knowledge acquisition and knowledge representation, the design technology of the inferencing and the developing engines, and the interpretation and the self learning functions of the system, etc, are described. BFBEST, which is implemented on IBM-PC with Turbo-Prolog language, may be utilized very conveniently to construct various medical expert systems of high performance.
