Steady Enhancement of Academic Level Accelerating Healthy Development of the Nation’s Higher Education

高等教育质量问题事关国家未来 ,应引起高校领导的正视和关注。本文通过近几年高校扩招现状的分析 ,论述了其对高等教育发展的积极意义和产生的负面影响 ,指出扩招后高校特别是民办高校教育质量形势严峻 ,必须采取切实有效的措施集中加以治理 ,防止因数量的扩张而导致质量的滑坡 ,从而确保高等教育持续健康地向前发展。

The academic level of China’s higher education institutions, which has a most important bearing on the nation’s future , should attract full attention of the leaders in these institutions. This article makes comments on the fast expansion of enrolment in universities and colleges in recent years, analyses both its positive and negative effects on the development of the country’s higher education, and envisages the harsh problems confronting these institutions, especially the non-governmental ones, in their academic construction. Effective govern must be taken without delay to prevent a down-slide in their academic standard as a result of the sudden inflation of enrolment and to ensure a sustained healthy development.
