摘要
上海园林中难见秋色的主要原因是多数秋色叶树种开始变色的临界温度是10℃或更低,故秋色要在11月中下旬才能充分显示,但有几个树种却能在15℃左右即开始变色,还有约15种能在秋季结出美丽的果实,如能成片种植,不仅能使秋色期提前到10月中旬,并能提高上海的秋景水平。
The brilliant autumnal leaf coloration is scarce in Shanghai because (1) only a small number of better autumnal colored trees are grown, (2) the 'threshold temperature' above which color-turning does not occur in most of the trees is 5～10℃ at night, thus, they do not display their full colorations until mid November, and it is much later in the center of the city for the 'heat-island effect', and (3) the large frequency of wind in Shanghai sheds the colored leaf easily.Some species turn their colors in October, with the threshold tcmperature about 15℃, while more than 15 species bear very beautiful fruits. Hence, the autumn scene in Shanghai will be greatly improved and appear much earlier in October by planting a large number of these species in parks and gardens and by setting up new landscapes of autumnal coloraton.
